I met Bob at The Webber Douglas Academy in 1973. We became firm friends, with me totally in awe of his stage persona as Rocky Sharpe. Me, my then wife, Paulina and Bob spent so many hours playing racing demons and his wonderful game invention the Necronimicon (Waddingtons….you missed a money maker there). 
So sad to be so late to hear of this news. We lost touch through the years when I moved up North, but Bob always remained in my heart and mind.
